Questions
What are AI credits?
Everything AI in Autodemia draws from one meter. A credit is about a cent of AI. Quick checks like grading an answer use a sliver of one, a typical reply uses one or two, and a deep answer from our strongest model uses about 10. Every plan includes credits each month, and your map, reviews and quizzes never use any.
What is a deep answer?
Most of what Autodemia does runs on a fast, inexpensive model. When a question is hard, or you tell the assistant it got something wrong, it escalates to a much stronger model. That escalation is a deep answer. It costs us 20 to 40 times more, which is why it uses more credits.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Nothing breaks. If you have top-up credits, we use those next. If not, the assistant keeps working on our fast model, deep answers wait, and your plan credits refill at the start of each month. Only far past your monthly credits, or after an unusually heavy single day, does the assistant pause until the next reset, a guard against automated abuse. Your map, reviews and quizzes never stop.
What are top-up credits?
One-time packs from $5 for when you want more than your plan includes. They never expire, carry over from month to month, and are only used after your plan's monthly credits run out.
Can I use my own API key?
Yes, on any plan. Connect a Claude key, a JEV key or both in Settings. Anything your key can handle is billed to your own account and uses none of your credits. Your plan price stays the same, and you can use as much AI as your own account allows. If your key ever fails, we fall back to your credits so your studying isn't interrupted.
Is my key safe?
Keys are encrypted before they are stored, checked with the provider when you add them, and never shown again, not even to you. You can remove a key at any time.
Are everyday answers really unlimited on Member?
There's no daily cap. Replies use credits, and 1,200 a month covers hours of studying a day. A fair-use limit exists only to stop automated abuse.
How is this different from ChatGPT or Gemini?
Chatbots answer you and then forget. Autodemia keeps a map of every concept you're learning, tracks how well you know each one, and turns what you learn into a cited wiki you own. When a concept shows up in a second pursuit, your mastery comes with it. You're paying for a learning record that compounds, not just answers.
What is the founding membership?
The first group of members can join for $79 a year, and that price is locked for as long as you stay a member. It's our thanks for helping shape the product and the community early.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account and you won't be charged again. Your account and everything you've built stay yours; Free plan limits apply to new pursuits. Top-up credits you bought stay on your account.
I have my own plan. What happens if my company or school covers me?
You never pay twice. While an organization pays for your seat, your Member plan pauses, keeps its price (founding included) and starts again by itself if you leave. Pro keeps running unless you choose to pause it. Running an organization is free: owners, admins and guides don't need a seat. See autodemia.io/billing-explained.
Do you offer a discount for paying yearly?
